We are looking for a talented Sr. DevOps Engineer to join our team and help shape the future of our infrastructure. At VGS, we specialize in data security and compliance, providing a platform that allows companies to secure their sensitive data without the burden of handling it directly. As a remote-first organization, we place a high value on autonomy and work-life balance, and we are eager to find someone who is passionate about building robust developer tooling and streamlining our CI/CD strategies to support our growing engineering organization.
What you'll be doing
- You will take the lead on our CI/CD strategy by building standardized service templates and implementing automated pipelines that help our product teams deploy code efficiently and securely.
- You will manage and optimize our multi-region Kubernetes clusters, utilizing advanced monitoring, logging, and alerting tools to ensure our systems remain highly available and performant.
- You will act as a champion for developer productivity by creating custom tools, automating operational tasks, and integrating various engineering systems to remove friction from the daily development lifecycle.
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, you should have a solid technical foundation and a collaborative mindset. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- A degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience building DevOps and GitOps workflows within Kubernetes-based cloud environments.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes architecture and experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, Helm, or Ansible.
- Strong proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Java, or Bash.
- Experience with observability platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, or Honeycomb, as well as familiarity with security scanning and code quality tools.
- A strong command of the English language, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience working with cloud-native architectures, specifically within AWS, and a solid understanding of microservices, Docker, and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or ArgoCD.
What you'll get
We believe in supporting our team members both professionally and personally. When you join VGS, you will have access to the following benefits:
- Flexible work hours and a flexible paid time off policy.
- Competitive health benefits, including life and disability insurance.
- Stock options to give you a stake in our shared success.
- A 401k plan with employer matching and immediate vesting for US employees.
- Access to a global parental leave program and an Employee Assistance Program.
- Financial support for your home office setup, home internet costs, and professional development opportunities.
