At our company we build reliable, AI-augmented data platforms that turn complex information into clear, actionable insight for teams across the organization. Our work centers on keeping data accurate, accessible, and ready for decision-makers who rely on it every day.
The role
We are hiring a Senior Data Engineer on a contractor basis. The position is fully remote and open to candidates located anywhere, provided they can work during U.S. Eastern Time business hours. We are looking for someone with senior-level experience who can strengthen our data quality practices and help us adopt AI-enabled tooling across our pipelines.
Core responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain data-quality checks, monitoring, and alerting so production datasets remain trustworthy and issues surface quickly.
- Investigate data problems across multiple systems, apply business logic, and turn ambiguous questions into clear, structured analysis and fixes.
- Build and deploy AI agents that automate data-pipeline tasks, generate code, and create testing workflows using modern AI-assisted development tools.
Skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least ten years of hands-on quality-testing experience, including professional work in data engineering, analytics engineering, data quality, or software engineering with a focus on data investigation and validation.
- Expert-level SQL skills and the ability to write complex queries that analyze, validate, and troubleshoot data across disparate systems.
- Proficiency in Python or TypeScript for automation, testing, and data analysis.
- Practical experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Redshift, Athena, Snowflake, or Databricks.
- Familiarity with BI and reporting tools such as Tableau or QuickSight.
- Hands-on exposure to AI-assisted development tools (for example GitHub Copilot or Claude) and direct experience building AI agents that automate data workflows.
- Solid understanding of data structures, data modeling, transformations, and lineage, plus the common sources of data defects.
- Strong written and verbal communication, documentation habits, and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- English fluency is required; U.S. citizenship or Green Card status on a W-2 basis is necessary for this engagement.
Compensation and benefits
We offer the flexibility of fully remote work and the opportunity to shape how AI tools are integrated into data-engineering processes at scale.
