We are looking for a Sr. Controls System Engineer to join our team in a full-time, hybrid capacity. In this role, you will play a vital part in developing our innovative Boron Neutron Capture Therapy system, which is designed to advance cancer treatment. You will be responsible for the design, programming, and implementation of National Instruments systems, focusing on real-time control, automation, and data acquisition to ensure our technology operates at the highest standard.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our multi-disciplinary team to build and maintain the control systems for our cancer treatment technology.
- Travel to various installation sites to oversee system commissioning, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Create specialized software engineering tools that enhance our team’s overall workflow and productivity.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should have a strong background in embedded control system design and advanced LabVIEW programming. We require at least 4 years of experience working in industrial, scientific, or research environments where hardware control was a primary focus.
- A B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related physics or engineering discipline.
- Proven ability to develop distributed control and acquisition projects using National Instruments hardware, such as PXI, RIO, and FPGA architectures.
- Proficiency in embedded system development, including real-time fault detection and data logging.
- Technical expertise in high voltage and electrical principles, as well as experience with SQL databases and software revision control.
- A willingness to travel domestically and overseas approximately 20% of the time.
- Preferred: LabVIEW certification, such as Certified LabVIEW Developer or Certified LabVIEW Embedded Developer.
- Preferred: Experience with C, C++, or C# and working within high-voltage or high-power environments.
