We are Rackspace Technology, the multicloud solutions experts. We help our clients navigate complex challenges by designing, building, and managing end-to-end solutions across data, security, and applications. We are currently looking for a Senior Big Data Engineer to join our team in a fully remote capacity within the United States.

Responsibilities

Develop reusable and reliable code for large-scale stream and batch processing systems.
Work extensively with technologies including Pub/Sub, Kafka, Kinesis, Dataflow, Flink, Hadoop, Pig, Hive, and Spark.
Implement DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and containerization.
Solve complex technical problems independently while collaborating effectively with remote team members.
Maintain clear communication with stakeholders to ensure project goals and technical requirements are met.

Must-haves

A technical degree in Computer Science, software engineering, or a related field.
At least 4 years of experience building and operating solutions on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
At least 4 years of experience in customer-facing technology, consulting, or IT transformation projects, including cloud migrations.
A Google Associate Cloud Engineer or other professional-level Google Cloud certification.
Strong programming proficiency in Java and Python.
Experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Expertise in GCP managed services and cloud-based messaging systems.
Proven ability to work effectively in a remote professional environment.
