We are IEM, a woman-owned leader in emergency management dedicated to building a safer, more resilient world through actionable solutions. We are currently seeking a Senior Appian Developer to join our Digital Modernization team, where you will help build platforms that support communities in recovery.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement new features while improving existing functionality on the Appian platform.
- Manage the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems by building automation and resolving emergent technical issues.
- Collaborate within a high-performing agile team to handle code baselining, version control, peer reviews, and software testing.
- Actively participate in the full agile lifecycle, including sprint planning, user story grooming, and retrospectives.
- Work directly with clients to translate business needs into functional system requirements.
- Navigate the Appian deployment process to ensure smooth delivery of software.
Must-haves
- At least 4 years of recent experience building applications on Appian platform versions 17.x or higher.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Appian components, including SAIL forms, process models, records, reports, and integrations.
- At least 1 year of SQL development experience combined with a solid grasp of database design principles.
- A valid Secret Security Clearance, with DOJ preference or DOD acceptance.
- Strong proficiency in English and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work remotely while maintaining a stable internet connection with at least 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download speeds.
- Familiarity with BPM-based platforms and the MS Office suite.
Nice-to-haves
- Appian Level 1 Credentials.
- Experience working with MySQL or MariaDB.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

The annual salary range for this role is $130,000 to $150,000, depending on your location and experience.
