At Cobalt, we believe in the power of automation to create safer, more secure workplaces. By handling repetitive and mundane tasks, our technology frees up teams to focus on the work that truly matters, allowing them to serve their colleagues with genuine empathy. Our robots are already making a difference in hundreds of locations worldwide, where they handle everything from alarm responses and site safety checks to greeting visitors. We are looking for someone who is ready to join this mission and help us continue changing how the world approaches security.
The opportunity
As a Solutions Engineer based in our Pasig City office, you will serve as the primary point of contact for maintaining our fleet of over 150 robots. This role is perfect for a junior professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to work at the intersection of software and hardware. You will collaborate daily with our engineering teams in the United States and Korea to ensure our robots provide a seamless experience for our customers. While this is an on-site, full-time position that begins on an hourly basis, there is a strong potential for it to transition into a salaried role as you grow with us.
A day in the life
- You will act as the first line of defense for our robot fleet, triaging and resolving technical issues in real time to ensure high service uptime.
- You will manage the remote deployment and configuration of robots for new customer sites, which includes setting up integrations with elevators, doors, and alarm systems.
- You will work directly with our software and hardware, identifying bugs and developing features to improve fleet performance while communicating technical solutions to our customers.
Who you are
You are an adaptable and flexible problem solver who is eager to learn. You possess a strong technical foundation and are comfortable working in a Linux environment. To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven software engineering experience, whether through full-time work, internships, or significant academic projects.
- Proficiency in Python or C++.
- Solid experience with Linux system administration and command-line operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A genuine excitement for working with diverse technologies, ranging from robotics hardware to web infrastructure.
Bonus points if you have experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS), network configuration, or robotics sensors.
Why you'll love it here
We are a team that values variety and the thrill of solving complex robotics challenges. By joining us, you will gain hands-on experience with a cutting-edge fleet and play a vital role in our global operations. We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels welcome. If you are ready to help us shape the future of workplace safety, we would love to hear from you.
