The role

We are looking for a Software Technician to join us on a contract-to-hire basis. This is an entry-level, student-friendly position perfect for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced startup environment. You will work remotely from anywhere, helping our engineering teams stay productive by handling the technical setup and maintenance of our software environments.

Core responsibilities

• Manage industrial vendor software installations, license tracking, and the creation of virtual machines to ensure our developers can focus on core integration and coding tasks.
• Maintain a consistent standard for virtual machine distribution and troubleshoot technical issues to streamline project onboarding.
• Ensure all requests for GSD files and software add-ons are fulfilled within a two-business-day turnaround to keep our projects moving forward.

Skills and experience

• A foundational understanding of how to install and manage software within the Windows operating system.
• An interest in or previous exposure to IT support, system administration, or working with industrial equipment like PLCs.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent documentation skills to keep our processes clear and efficient.
• The ability to work remotely while maintaining communication, including attending at least one daily team meeting during regular business hours.
• Fluency in English.
