We are looking for a skilled Software Implementation Engineer to join our team in the United States. You will play a key role in our Advanced Engineering, Interface, and Customization groups by developing and configuring our core insurance platform, SurePower Innovation, to meet the unique needs of our clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, and customize our core insurance software for various customer platforms.
- Collaborate closely with fellow engineers, business analysts, and cross-functional team members.
- Follow established professional services standards to ensure our technology remains scalable and extensible.
- Take full ownership of your deliverables while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Break down complex tasks into logical, manageable steps.
- Communicate effectively with team members to solve problems and reach project goals.
Must-haves
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proficiency in Java and XML.
- Experience working with an IDE like Eclipse.
- Familiarity with source code control tools such as GitHub, CVS, or SourceTree.
- Experience using project tracking tools like Jira or SharePoint.
- Knowledge of Web Services, including SOAP and REST.
- Strong debugging skills across various levels, including browsers, applications, and Java/Tomcat environments.
- A solid understanding of design patterns and general coding best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Practical experience with SQL, specifically MySQL or SQL Server.
- Background knowledge of the insurance industry.
