Software Engineering Manager at Jet Support Services

We are Jet Support Services, Inc. (JSSI), an independent provider of maintenance support programs, advisory services, software platforms, and financial solutions for the business aviation industry. For more than 35 years we have supported over 6,000 aircraft, using extensive operational data and technical expertise to deliver cost-effective, tailored solutions across every make and model. Our offerings include hourly-cost maintenance programs, global parts and leasing services, data platforms such as Traxxall and Conklin & de Decker, independent technical advisory and appraisal services, and customized asset-based financing.

We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead our remote engineering team. In this role you will guide a group of engineers through the full software development lifecycle, balancing hands-on technical oversight with team development and project delivery that supports both internal operations and external clients.

Key outcomes

• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team that consistently delivers reliable software solutions aligned with business priorities.
• Direct project planning, resource allocation, and delivery activities so that initiatives are completed on schedule, within budget, and to defined quality standards.
• Provide architectural guidance and code review to ensure applications remain scalable, secure, and maintainable while meeting evolving functional requirements.
• Implement and refine Agile processes that improve team productivity, reduce bottlenecks, and foster continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and operational stakeholders to translate business needs into clear technical deliverables and maintain transparent communication throughout each project.
• Manage day-to-day technical operations, including bug resolution, environment support, and the integration of new features across web applications and APIs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 10–15 years of experience managing software development teams.
• At least five years of hands-on experience building and maintaining web applications with C# and .NET, including the design and consumption of RESTful APIs.
• At least five years of experience developing with TypeScript and JavaScript, specifically using React or Angular frameworks.
• Practical experience writing SQL queries against relational databases.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, code quality practices, and modern engineering standards.
• Demonstrated ability to participate in Agile ceremonies and deliver work within sprint cadences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools for planning, documentation, and reporting.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Redux when working with React or Angular applications.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services and platform capabilities.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce and its integration patterns.
• Experience using Azure DevOps or comparable systems for source control, build pipelines, and work tracking.
