Since our founding in 2018, we have partnered with nearly 6,000 employer health plans to remove the financial uncertainty that often prevents people from seeking the care they need. We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of five engineers and drive the development of products that impact millions of lives.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and develop a team of five or more engineers while fostering a culture of career growth and collaboration.
- Manage the full lifecycle and technical execution of two critical products to ensure high-quality, scalable results.
- Work alongside Product, Design, and Business teams to align technical strategy with company objectives.
- Collaborate with senior staff to make informed technical decisions and maintain system security and reliability.
- Improve internal development processes to boost efficiency and innovation across the engineering department.
- Lead recruiting and onboarding efforts to grow our team and maintain our high standards.
Must-haves
- At least six years of professional software development experience, including a minimum of two years in a management or leadership capacity.
- Proven ability to deliver software within cross-functional teams using modern development workflows.
- Technical proficiency in areas such as React, Java, AWS, and Terraform.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
- A mission-driven, humble approach to leadership and a bias for action in fast-paced environments.
- Fluency in English.

- Previous experience working within a high-growth startup environment.
- Background in healthcare technology, HRIS, payroll, or benefits administration.
