The role
We are hiring a Software Engineering Manager to lead a remote team of backend and frontend engineers. This is a full-time position at the manager level. You will guide the development of cloud-native applications that power financing workflows for climate-impacting home improvements, working with colleagues across the EU, Central America, and North America.
Core responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of five to ten engineers, setting goals, running agile processes, and balancing product features with infrastructure and security work.
- Coordinate with product management, quality, data science, UX, business development, and operations to deliver production-grade applications on public cloud platforms.
- Build hiring plans, interview and close strong engineers, and create an environment of collaboration, transparency, and technical excellence.
Skills and experience
- Five to seven or more years of experience shipping production software and at least six months leading engineering teams through road-mapping, performance management, and career development.
- Hands-on familiarity with Node.js, .NET, TypeScript, and React, plus comfort conducting code reviews.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, REST, JSON, GraphQL, and NoSQL databases.
- Strong communication and analytical skills, a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or computer science (or equivalent practical experience), and a demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity.
- Fluency in English.
