Software Engineer at Felix

Since our founding in 2019, Felix has been dedicated to putting patients in charge of their own health and well-being. We are a digital healthcare company focused on creating beautiful, accessible experiences that make managing health more enjoyable for everyone across Canada. As the country's first end-to-end digital healthcare provider, we offer online consultations, prescription fulfillment, and ongoing care for a variety of daily health needs, including acne, birth control, weight loss, and more. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our remote team and help us build the technology that powers our healthcare ecosystem.

Key outcomes

• Design and build robust front-end and back-end systems, including managing database architecture and technical specifications.
• Develop scalable software that allows us to expand into new markets and launch additional healthcare categories.
• Enhance platform reliability by implementing rigorous testing, observability, and monitoring practices.
• Optimize system performance by managing communication flows across the entire stack and establishing strong engineering frameworks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product and design teams to deliver innovative features that improve patient retention and engagement.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members to support their professional growth.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience as a full-stack engineer, specifically in building scalable web applications.
• Strong proficiency in PHP/Laravel, JavaScript, and Vue.js.
• Proven leadership abilities, including the capacity to lead development teams and unblock technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset that thrives in ambiguous environments and a genuine passion for problem-solving.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working within the healthcare technology sector.
• A track record of driving large-scale projects from conception to deployment.
