Software Engineer at Whereby

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. As an engineering-centric organization, we focus on building robust, ethical, and innovative solutions that serve millions of users globally. You will play a vital role in shaping our technical roadmap, mentoring colleagues, and ensuring our platform remains secure and scalable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and deployment of new features outlined in our product roadmap while ensuring high code quality and engineering efficiency.
• Maintain the reliability and uptime of our platform by writing performant code, managing API design, and adhering to strict security and privacy principles.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to iterate on user feedback and solve complex technical challenges.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience as a full-stack developer, with a strong focus on back-end systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in JavaScript, specifically Node.js and React.
• Proven ability to design and manage APIs within a SaaS environment.
• A disciplined approach to development, including writing clean, documented code and participating in peer code reviews.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment.
• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Terraform, Redis, and WebSockets is considered a significant advantage.
