At FLASH, we are reimagining the way people move through urban environments by transforming parking assets into hubs of smart city connectivity. Our mission is to modernize urban mobility, and we are looking for a dedicated Software Engineer to help us build the systems that make this vision a reality. You will be joining a talented, 75-person engineering team where your work will directly influence how people access parking facilities and EV charging stations across the country.
The opportunity
As a core member of our engineering department, you will play a vital role in expanding our infrastructure. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working on scalable APIs, intricate pricing models, and robust transaction processing systems. You will work in a highly collaborative environment, partnering with product managers and engineers across our web, mobile, and operating system teams to deliver features that power our entire product suite. This is a full-time, remote position for candidates based in the United States.
A day in the life
- You will write and maintain scalable services primarily using Ruby on Rails, while occasionally utilizing Go to solve specific technical challenges.
- You will design and implement complex pricing logic and transaction systems that ensure our platforms remain reliable and efficient.
- You will work alongside cross-functional teams to digitize access for parking and EV charging, utilizing a modern tech stack that includes AWS, Postgres, Docker, and Terraform.
Who you are
We are looking for a mid-level engineer who takes pride in shipping clean, maintainable code. You should have a strong foundation in computer science, ideally supported by a relevant degree. To succeed in this role, you should bring the following:
- At least 2 years of professional experience working with Ruby on Rails, along with a working familiarity with Go.
- Proven experience with our core technology stack, including Postgres, Redis, AWS, Linux, Chef, and Docker.
- A proactive mindset and a deep sense of ownership over your projects, combined with the communication skills needed to thrive in a collaborative team setting.
- Fluency in English and current residency in the United States.
Why you'll love it here
We believe in fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace where everyone has the opportunity to grow. We are committed to diversity and provide equal employment opportunities to all applicants. Beyond the chance to work on impactful technology, you will enjoy the flexibility of remote work as we continue to build the future of smart cities together.
