Software Engineer at LatchBio

We are LatchBio, and we are working to move biological discovery into the digital age. Our team is building a comprehensive cloud platform designed to store, visualize, and analyze data from biological experiments. By providing an end-to-end bioinformatics solution, we allow biologists to access powerful computational tools without needing to manage complex data infrastructure or write code. We are a small, ambitious group that values high-quality engineering and professional growth, and we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States.

What you'll be doing

• You will take full ownership of features, managing the entire development lifecycle from initial requirement discovery and design to implementation, testing, and long-term maintenance.
• You will work across our entire stack, as we do not separate our team into frontend, backend, or DevOps roles, meaning you will contribute to every part of our product.
• You will collaborate closely with our design, product, business, and customer success teams to build robust, scalable infrastructure that helps our users push the boundaries of biological research.

What you'll bring

We are looking for someone who is motivated to learn continuously and can thrive with minimal management. While you do not need prior experience in every area we touch, you should have an in-depth understanding of complex technical systems and a desire to work with them regardless of their complexity. You will be working with the following technologies and concepts:

• Programming Languages: You will use TypeScript for frontend development and Python for backend systems.
• Data and Infrastructure: You will work with PostgreSQL as our primary database, as well as Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux for containerization and system management.
• Cloud and Systems: You will engage with distributed systems, cloud environments, and modern UI frameworks like React.
• Communication: You must be proficient in English to collaborate effectively with our team.
