The role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid role, and while we operate as a remote-first organization, we highly value candidates who can contribute from our San Francisco office. You will be instrumental in maintaining our high standards for engineering excellence as we continue to expand our payment processing capabilities.

Core responsibilities

• Design and implement robust systems within our payment infrastructure to ensure seamless transactions for merchants and shoppers.
• Collaborate with our engineering team to balance technical trade-offs while delivering high-quality, scalable code.
• Utilize logging and observability tools to monitor system performance and proactively resolve complex technical challenges.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong foundation in computer science and a track record of building reliable software. We value candidates who possess the following:

• Professional experience with Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and NodeJS.
• Hands-on experience working with AWS cloud infrastructure.
• A deep understanding of software testing, engineering best practices, and payment processor systems.
• The ability to communicate clearly and work effectively in a remote environment, with a requirement to overlap at least four hours daily between 9am and 5pm PST.
• A degree in computer science or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience.

Compensation and benefits

For this position, the base salary range is $130,000 to $175,000 USD. Please note that this figure does not include equity, which represents a significant portion of your total compensation package. In addition to salary, we offer:
