We are currently looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our Applications Team in a hybrid capacity, working from our Chicago office to support our algorithmic trading desks.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering and trading teams to architect, build, deploy, and maintain robust applications.
- Participate in the full agile development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, code reviews, and testing within a shared CI environment.
- Develop new features and provide ongoing support for our infrastructure, primarily using C# and Python.
- Contribute to long-term technology refresh roadmaps and re-architecture initiatives.
- Implement real-time monitoring tools to provide visibility into service performance and status.
- Partner with senior engineers to adopt industry best practices and grow your technical expertise.
Must-haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Three to five years of professional experience in C#, Python, Java, or C++.
- At least one to two years of specific professional experience with C#.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into clean, functional code.
- Proven experience working within an agile development environment.
- Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and the software development lifecycle.
- Experience developing for the Linux platform.
- Familiarity with inter-process communication and messaging between disparate systems.
- A genuine interest in financial markets.
