At Flock, we are redefining the insurance industry through a data-driven approach that prioritizes safety over simple claims processing. We have already reached the milestone of insuring nearly 1 billion connected miles, helping major fleets like Amazon, DPD, Uber, and Bolt manage risk in real time. Having raised over £50M, we are now looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this hybrid role, you will help us build the next generation of our telemetry and safety platform, transforming complex data into actionable insights for our customers.

Responsibilities

Design and implement intuitive, scalable user interfaces using React and TypeScript to visualize high-volume telemetry data.
Develop and integrate with RESTful APIs via API Gateway, collaborating with backend teams to ensure efficient data delivery.
Utilize AWS services such as Lambda and EventBridge to maintain and extend our event-driven telemetry pipeline, while using Terraform for infrastructure management.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who brings a strong technical foundation and a passion for building data-rich applications. To be successful in this role, you should have:

Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript, with a proven ability to create elegant, data-driven front-end features.
Solid experience working with AWS in serverless or event-driven environments.
A comfortable approach to handling and visualizing large datasets from telemetry or similar systems.
Familiarity with CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
Exposure to Auth0 for authentication and Datadog for system monitoring is considered a significant advantage.
