Software Engineer at Loancrate

At LoanCrate, we are on a mission to modernize the home-buying process. We founded this company to replace the slow, unstable software that has plagued the mortgage industry for decades, ultimately saving lenders millions of dollars in preventable errors. Since our start in early 2021, we have raised 9 million dollars, grown our team to 15 people, and supported over 50 billion dollars in new home loans. We are currently on a trajectory to become cash-flow positive in 2024, and we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our fully remote team and help us scale our impact across the US housing market.

Key outcomes

• Architect and launch the next version of our no-code platform to help customers digitize their operational workflows.
• Integrate third-party lending service APIs to automate underwriting, document generation, and fraud prevention.
• Design and build robust job processing infrastructure on AWS to improve system observability and reliability.
• Ship production-ready code quickly while maintaining high standards for software quality and security.
• Collaborate with a product-oriented team to solve complex challenges in the home-lending space.

Requirements

• Extensive experience working with TypeScript across the full stack.
• Proficiency with React for frontend development and Node for backend services.
• Strong knowledge of GraphQL, Postgres, and Docker.
• Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and Terraform.
• A deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
• Excellent communication skills in English and a collaborative, team-first mindset.

• A strong focus on security and protecting sensitive personal data.
• Experience scaling high-throughput distributed systems in cloud environments.
• A product-oriented mindset with the ability to contribute ideas to feature design.
• Background in developing maintainable architecture patterns for enterprise-level software.
• Interest in mentoring other engineers and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• An SRE-oriented approach to building reliable and observable infrastructure.
