The role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an on-site position based in our Mountain View office. We believe that innovation happens best when we are together, so our teams work from the office five days a week to foster collaboration and creative problem-solving. We are seeking an experienced engineer with at least five years of backend development expertise who is ready to take ownership of complex technical challenges.

Core responsibilities

• Design and evolve scalable, reliable distributed systems to address critical challenges within our observability platform.
• Take full ownership of the core observability infrastructure that monitors our business-critical applications.
• Develop abstractions to simplify our infrastructure and enhance the overall observability of our services.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in backend development, ideally using Go or Java. We value engineers who are passionate about writing clean, maintainable code and who enjoy diving into open-source software to identify and resolve issues. You should have a proven track record of growth and a desire to contribute to our open-source efforts. While not strictly required, experience with PSQL, Kubernetes, and building distributed applications is highly advantageous.
