Software Engineer at Loancrate

Welcome to LoanCrate. We are on a mission to modernize the home-buying process, which has been held back for too long by outdated, unstable software. Since our start in early 2021, we have raised 9 million dollars and grown into a team of 15 people. Our platform has already powered over 50 billion dollars in new home loans, and we are currently on track to become cash-flow positive in 2024. What is this role?

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position open to candidates anywhere. You will play a key role in leading our efforts to transform the future of home lending in the United States, helping us manage financial assets worth trillions of dollars.

What will you do?

• Architect, build, and launch the next version of our no-code platform to help customers digitize their operations and improve efficiency.
• Integrate with third-party lending service APIs to handle document generation, automated underwriting, and fraud prevention.
• Develop and scale our job processing infrastructure on AWS to ensure our backend remains highly observable and reliable.

What makes you a great fit?

We primarily work with TypeScript, React, Node, GraphQL, Postgres, AWS, and Terraform. While you do not need to be an expert in every single area, we are looking for the following qualities and skills:

• A strong focus on security, given the sensitive nature of the personal data we handle.
• A product-oriented mindset with the ability to contribute ideas that improve the user experience.
• Experience designing readable, maintainable software architecture that supports large enterprise customers.
• An interest in mentoring other engineers and sharing your technical expertise.
• An SRE-oriented approach to building reliable, low-toil infrastructure.
• Proficiency in developing full-stack features and scaling complex relational database schemas.
• Fluency in English to collaborate effectively with our team.
