The opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our fully remote team. In this role, you will be at the heart of our operations, building the automation that allows us to capture and analyze data reliably, quickly, and at scale. You will work across the entire stack, from recording sensor data on aircraft to developing cloud-native processing pipelines and creating machine-learning models that extract insights from geopixels. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys compositional engineering, where you tie together disparate technologies to solve complex, real-world problems.
A day in the life
- You will design and implement robust software solutions using Python, while utilizing tools like Terraform, Bash, and SQL to maintain our infrastructure.
- You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to build automated testing and continuous integration pipelines that ensure our software remains reliable as we scale.
- You will tackle unique technical challenges, such as developing web interfaces with React or optimizing cloud-based data processing, to help us turn raw sensor data into actionable information.
Who you are
You are a seasoned engineer who values impact over technical perfection. You possess significant experience with Python and have a proven ability to learn new technologies quickly in a self-guided manner. You have deep expertise in at least one of our core domains, such as full-stack web development, cloud-based data processing, numerical computing, applied machine learning, or geospatial analysis. You believe in modern development practices like code reviews and automated testing, and you are eager to apply your skills to solve meaningful, global problems.
