We are building a platform that connects directly to massive datasets while offering advanced version control, collaboration, and sophisticated dashboarding tools. Our mission is to solve the frustrations inherent in traditional spreadsheets by creating a high-performance, next-generation tool that changes how businesses interact with their data. Founded by former executive leaders from Intercom, our team consists of seasoned professionals with over a decade of experience in Silicon Valley, and we are now expanding our founding engineering hub in New York City.

The role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an on-site position based in our New York City office. We are seeking high-agency individuals who are eager to tackle complex architectural challenges and contribute to a foundational product. You will have the autonomy to own projects from start to finish while working alongside a best-in-class team of engineers.

Core responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a high-performance spreadsheet engine capable of real-time data processing, formula parsing, and complex rendering.
• Architect robust data pipelines that integrate seamlessly with massive datasets, utilizing column-based storage to evaluate formulas across data warehouses.
• Create sophisticated data visualization components, including charts, dashboards, and innovative summary tables that redefine the spreadsheet experience.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess significant hands-on experience in building and scaling complex web applications. We value candidates who demonstrate deep technical expertise and a passion for solving ambiguous problems.

• Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript for building high-performance frontend interfaces.
• Deep understanding of backend architecture, including web servers, database design, and distributed systems.
• A proven track record of performance optimization and a commitment to writing high-quality, efficient code.
• Excellent communication skills in English and a desire to collaborate in person with our team in New York City.

Compensation and benefits
