Software Engineer at Atlas

The role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an on-site position based in our San Francisco office in the Financial District, where we prioritize in-person collaboration at least three days a week. You will be instrumental in building the backend systems that drive our platform, including payment processing, card issuing, and real-time concierge tools.

Core responsibilities

• Architect and maintain the core backend systems that manage our card issuing, payment processing, and merchant intelligence.
• Develop robust integrations with travel partners, GDS platforms, and various third-party APIs to enhance our service offerings.
• Build and scale reliable infrastructure that ensures high performance and security as our transaction volume continues to grow.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in backend engineering and a passion for building high-quality systems. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• At least 5 years of professional experience building production-grade systems using languages such as Go, Node.js, or Python.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience working with cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases, with a preference for Postgres.
• A deep understanding of reliability, observability, and performance optimization.
• The ability to own large-scale projects from start to finish while working effectively with product and operations teams.
