We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. At Check, we are working to modernize the payroll industry, which serves as the backbone of the US economy but has seen little innovation in decades. We invented the embedded payroll space to support business owners and the millions of workers who rely on timely paychecks. Our mission is to empower innovative software platforms to build their own payroll businesses, and we are looking for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact on how companies pay their employees.
Responsibilities
- Take the lead on scoping and developing large-scale technical projects that drive significant business results.
- Create and maintain tools designed to automate and support intricate payroll workflows for both our internal teams and our partners.
- Actively shape the values, culture, and operational processes of our expanding engineering organization.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who is comfortable working across our entire stack, which includes Python, Django, React, TypeScript, Postgres, and AWS. You should have a strong product-oriented mindset and a history of delivering value through iterative development. We value engineers who can simplify complex concepts, thrive in ambiguous environments, and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to design both intuitive user interfaces and robust APIs. Experience with GitLab for issue tracking and CI/CD is also part of our daily workflow.
What we offer
