Since 2019, Felix has been on a mission to modernize healthcare for Canadians. We are a digital health company that puts patients in the driver's seat, offering a seamless, end-to-end experience that covers everything from online consultations and prescription delivery to ongoing care. We have already served over 500,000 Canadians, and we are looking for a talented engineer to help us make healthcare more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Role at a glance
We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Dotcom team. This is a full-time, remote position open to candidates based anywhere in Canada. We are looking for a mid-level professional with at least two years of experience who is ready to take ownership of our primary web presence and help us scale our impact.
Your impact
- Build and refine our platform: You will develop custom WordPress block themes and plugins, translating Figma designs into reusable, tokenized components that empower our marketing team to iterate quickly.
- Develop internal tooling: You will create the infrastructure that supports our growth, including experimentation frameworks, analytics pipelines, and automated QA processes to keep our development cycle efficient.
- Optimize performance and SEO: You will act as a guardian of our site speed and search visibility, managing Core Web Vitals, asset delivery, and structured data to ensure our 500,000+ users have a top-tier experience.
What you'll need
- Deep expertise in PHP 8+ and WordPress, specifically with block themes, the block editor, and custom plugin development.
- Strong front-end skills including semantic HTML, CSS at scale, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Solid experience with MySQL schema design and query optimization.
- Proficiency in building and consuming REST APIs.
- Technical fluency with Docker, Vite, and Git-based workflows.
- A keen eye for design implementation, with the ability to turn Figma mockups into pixel-perfect, accessible interfaces.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-engineering stakeholders.
- Fluency in English.
Perks and compensation
We believe in supporting our team members both professionally and personally. You can expect the following benefits:
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Generous maternity and paternity leave policies.
- Paid time off, including four weeks of vacation.
- Stock options to ensure you share in our success.
- A remote-first culture that allows you to work from anywhere in Canada.
- Dedicated professional development opportunities and direct access to our leadership team.
