The role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Web Crawling team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a vital position for someone with at least three years of professional experience who enjoys tackling complex data extraction challenges. You will work within a distributed team to build and maintain the infrastructure that serves as the backbone of our product, ensuring that our data collection remains efficient, reliable, and secure.
Core responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust web crawlers that effectively gather high-quality merchant data at scale.
- Optimize our scraping infrastructure to overcome anti-bot measures while maintaining high performance and strict security standards.
- Collaborate with our application teams to integrate automated solutions and improve the overall accuracy of our data extraction pipelines.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong technical foundation and a problem-solving mindset. We look for the following qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in software engineering, specifically within the web crawling and data extraction space.
- Advanced proficiency in Node.js, along with a deep understanding of HTML and JavaScript.
- Proven ability to perform reverse engineering to navigate complex web structures.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright and Puppeteer.
- A solid grasp of performance optimization and security best practices for large-scale scraping operations.
