Software Engineer Trainee at Riot Games

We are looking for a Software Engineer Trainee to join our Singapore Studio, which serves as a vital hub for Riot's international development efforts. Since 2020, our team has been dedicated to scaling global titles like League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics to hyper-serve our community of 180 million monthly players, and we want you to help us build experiences that truly matter to our audience.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a team that ships new features to players every two weeks.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, documentation, and operational excellence.
• Engage in peer code reviews to support team growth and consistency.
• Collaborate effectively with non-technical partners to deliver value to our player base.

Must-haves

• Current enrollment in a degree program for computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field.
• Legal authorization to work in Singapore without the need for company sponsorship.
• Proficiency in coding with C++ or JavaScript.
• A solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and fundamental design methods.
• Strong communication skills and a natural ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Preference for students who are currently graduating.
• Prior experience working on video games, whether as a hobby or through school projects.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Lua, Monoscript, or C#.
• Experience or a strong willingness to learn HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Angular.
• Understanding of RESTful API development or mobile application development.
