We are currently looking for a Software Engineer to join our Applications Team, where you will support the front office software that powers our algorithmic trading desks.
Key outcomes
- Collaborate with our engineering and trading departments to design, build, deploy, and maintain robust applications.
- Operate within an agile development lifecycle, contributing to requirement gathering, code reviews, and testing processes.
- Develop and support our existing infrastructure using C# and Python, while creating new features to support our expanding business.
- Contribute to our ongoing technology refresh roadmap through re-architecture initiatives.
- Build and implement real-time monitoring tools to provide clear visibility into service performance.
- Partner with senior engineers to refine your technical skills and adopt industry best practices.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Three to five years of professional experience working with C#, Python, Java, or C++.
- At least one to two years of dedicated professional experience with C#.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into functional code and resolve technical issues.
- Proven experience working in an agile development environment.
- A solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and the full software development lifecycle.
- Experience developing applications for the Linux platform.
- Practical knowledge of inter-process communication and messaging between disparate systems.
- A genuine interest in financial markets, even if you do not have prior industry experience.
Compensation
The annual base salary for this position in Chicago, Illinois, ranges from $100,000 to $150,000. Your final offer will be based on your specific experience, skills, and internal equity. In addition to your salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
