We are thrilled to announce that DataStax is now part of IBM, and we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in San Jose, California, this hybrid position focuses on integrating OpenSearch capabilities into our cloud and on-premises AI platform. We are building a comprehensive AI PaaS that leverages Langflow, OpenSearch, and Apache Cassandra, and we want you to help us drive this innovation. You will have the unique opportunity to contribute directly to open source projects, continuing our long-standing tradition of supporting communities like Apache Cassandra and Apache Pulsar.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement new features, system enhancements, and essential bug fixes for our AI platform.
- Develop creative solutions to achieve seamless, bi-directional integration between OpenSearch and Apache Cassandra.
- Work closely with our internal engineering teams and the broader open source community to accelerate our development cycles and maintain high standards for scalability and design.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong background in software engineering and a passion for open source development. We are looking for candidates who are comfortable working with AI technologies and cloud-based architectures. Proficiency in Apache Cassandra and search technologies is highly valued, as is a commitment to building maintainable, testable, and robust code. You should be comfortable communicating in English and eager to engage with the OpenSearch community to foster growth and collaboration.
