Software Engineer ML Platform at Equilibrium Energy

As a well-funded Series B startup, we help utilities and independent power producers optimize their renewable assets to improve grid reliability and accelerate global decarbonization. We believe that a next-generation energy company must combine deep industry expertise with modern digital approaches, and we are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our Science Platform team. What you'll be doing

• You will abstract away the complexities of deploying and orchestrating forecasting workflows, which allows our Science team to iterate rapidly on their model development lifecycle.
• You will integrate our data and compute infrastructure to ensure high performance and efficient resource utilization while implementing automated testing and monitoring for production machine learning models.
• You will collaborate closely with data scientists and cross-functional partners to co-design robust frameworks for experimentation, hyperparameter tuning, and model deployment that scale across our enterprise applications.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in software engineering and a genuine commitment to combating climate change. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• At least 5 years of professional experience with Python software development.
• Hands-on experience with Machine Learning workflows, including operationalizing models and working with common libraries like xgboost, pytorch, or pandas.
• Technical proficiency with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and orchestration tools such as Metaflow or Argo.
• A solid understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and observability tools.
• Excellent communication skills, as you will be working within a remote-first, international team.
• Fluency in English.
