Equilibrium Energy is on a mission to reshape the clean energy transition by building innovative, grid-scale storage solutions. As a well-funded Series B startup, we help utilities and independent power producers optimize their renewable assets to improve grid reliability and accelerate global decarbonization. We believe that a next-generation energy company must combine deep industry expertise with modern digital approaches, and we are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our Science Platform team. If you are passionate about climate tech and want to help us build the infrastructure for a sustainable energy economy, we would love to meet you.
What you'll be doing
- You will abstract away the complexities of deploying and orchestrating forecasting workflows, which allows our Science team to iterate rapidly on their model development lifecycle.
- You will integrate our data and compute infrastructure to ensure high performance and efficient resource utilization while implementing automated testing and monitoring for production machine learning models.
- You will collaborate closely with data scientists and cross-functional partners to co-design robust frameworks for experimentation, hyperparameter tuning, and model deployment that scale across our enterprise applications.
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in software engineering and a genuine commitment to combating climate change. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of professional experience with Python software development.
- Hands-on experience with Machine Learning workflows, including operationalizing models and working with common libraries like xgboost, pytorch, or pandas.
- Technical proficiency with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and orchestration tools such as Metaflow or Argo.
- A solid understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and observability tools.
- Excellent communication skills, as you will be working within a remote-first, international team.
- Fluency in English.
What you'll get
We offer a collaborative and flexible work environment where you can grow alongside industry experts. Your benefits package includes:
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Participation in our 401k program.
- A meaningful equity grant to ensure you own a piece of the company you help build.
- Unlimited vacation time and a flexible work schedule.
- Dedicated support for your professional development and career growth.
- The ability to work in a hybrid or remote capacity from anywhere.
