We are Mighty Acorn, a professional services firm founded in 2023 that helps government agencies deliver reliable digital services. Our team of engineers, many with more than ten years of industry experience, partners with federal and state clients to modernize legacy systems, increase transparency, and improve outcomes for the public.
Responsibilities
- Build and enhance features in a JavaScript frontend application that serves as the primary focus of the role.
- Contribute to Java backend services that support the frontend and integrate with adjacent systems, including Salesforce.
- Take part in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and cross-functional collaboration to keep projects moving and maintain shared understanding across the team.
Requirements
- Seven or more years of professional software engineering experience, including strong JavaScript and demonstrated React skills for building accessible frontends.
- Hands-on experience developing or maintaining Java backend services in production, along with comfort working across the full stack and within complex or legacy environments.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus the ability to operate under ambiguity, manage time independently in a distributed team, and communicate clearly and directly.
- Eligibility to work from within the contiguous United States, active U.S. citizenship or green card status without current or future visa sponsorship, and successful completion of a criminal background check.
