We are A Thinking Ape, a studio that has built communities through mobile games with emergent social play and original IP since releasing our first title in 2009. We remain profitable and continue to grow each year while operating with small, autonomous teams that emphasize ownership and data-driven decisions. Our portfolio is expanding as we scale infrastructure and enter new markets to reach more players worldwide.

Responsibilities

Implement features, systems, and tools for our live mobile games, spanning both client and server code in a full-stack capacity.
Design and build services that support large numbers of concurrent users while ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Collaborate with artists and designers across every stage of product development, from initial concept through implementation, playtesting, and metrics analysis.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in a related field and available for a full-time paid internship during summer 2025, with graduation no earlier than September 2025.
Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms, along with the ability to communicate ideas clearly in both code and writing.
Interest in mobile gaming products and a desire to work across client technologies such as Unity, iOS, and Android as well as server technologies including Django and MySQL.

What we offer

Compensation for this position is $7,083 per month. We provide remote work, flexible hours, and professional development opportunities.
