Imagine starting your career by solving some of the most complex technological challenges on the planet. At RTI, we build the connectivity software that powers the world, from the AI brains inside autonomous vehicles and the systems guiding airplanes to the technology that monitors patients in hospitals and manages massive power plants. We are looking for passionate students from the University of Granada who want to join our team and learn what it takes to develop high-performance, real-time distributed systems.
The opportunity
We are seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join our team in Spain. This is a part-time, on-site role designed for students who are eager to bridge the gap between academic theory and professional engineering. You will be fully integrated into our team, working alongside experienced mentors to build commercial software that demands extreme scalability and reliability. This position is a perfect fit if you are a final-year student in Computer Engineering or a related master’s program looking to grow within a globally recognized industry leader.
A day in the life
- You will be paired with a dedicated mentor who will guide you through the intricacies of building real-time distributed systems.
- You will participate as a full member of your engineering team, attending status meetings, engaging in training sessions, and contributing to company updates.
- You will take on meaningful projects, such as developing prototypes for new features, validating technical approaches, or contributing directly to our RTI Connext product line.
Who you are
You are a student who loves programming and wants to immerse yourself in professional software engineering processes. We work primarily in C and C++, though we also utilize Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, and Lua. To succeed in this role, you should have a solid grasp of computer networking and operating systems. Familiarity with Docker, container technologies, and Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins or Bamboo is a significant advantage. Because we operate globally, you must be comfortable working in English. Please note that for this position in Granada, you must be enrolled in the ICARO program through the university and be available to work at least half-time for the duration of the six-month internship.
