We know how frustrating it is when a travel application causes unnecessary stress. A small error can easily derail a carefully planned trip. This is the exact challenge we tackle every day as a team. We are dedicated to ensuring our community of over 17 million users enjoys a seamless experience while they craft their own adventures. We are currently looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join our backend team in Indonesia on a hybrid basis to help us keep our systems running smoothly.

Key outcomes

Manage the critical data exchange between our servers and our users.
Provide robust functionality to the front-end code created by our design teams.
Maintain the background systems that ensure our platform remains reliable and efficient.
Collaborate with our engineering team to solve complex technical challenges.

Requirements

You are currently a student looking for an internship opportunity.
You possess strong logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
You have a solid understanding of how to approach and solve algorithmic problems.
You have practical experience with at least one programming language, such as Java, NodeJS, PHP, JavaScript, or Go.
You are familiar with database management using tools like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
You have a professional level of proficiency in English.

Preferred qualifications

Experience working with Redis or Memcache.
Familiarity with messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Google Pub/Sub.
Knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker.
