At MIM, we are dedicated to enhancing patient care by building sophisticated medical imaging software used by hospitals, research organizations, and clinics around the world. Our platform empowers physicians to streamline diagnostic and treatment processes, allowing them to focus their energy where it matters most: on the patient. By joining our team, you will contribute to a mission-driven environment where diverse perspectives fuel the innovation necessary to solve complex challenges in the medical field.
The role
We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a mid-level position designed for someone who is ready to take ownership of challenging projects within our Java desktop application. You will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing remote flexibility with time in our office to collaborate with your colleagues. You do not need prior experience in medical imaging to succeed here, as we value your technical foundation and your desire to learn.
Core responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance our mature Java codebase by developing new features that help medical professionals manipulate, label, and transfer critical imaging data.
- Design and iterate on practical solutions to real-world user problems by collaborating directly with our user-facing staff to define requirements.
- Ensure high software quality by writing automated tests, participating in peer code reviews, and documenting cybersecurity risks.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering paired with at least two years of industry experience, or a minimum of four years of direct professional experience in Java.
- A solid understanding of object-oriented principles and the data structures that support them.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- An appetite for continuous learning regarding both technical systems and interpersonal professional development.
Compensation and benefits
We believe in supporting our employees both inside and outside of the office. Our benefits package includes:
- A hybrid work environment that combines remote flexibility with an office setting.
- Full coverage of medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance premiums.
- A Health Savings Account that covers your medical deductible.
- A 401(k) plan with a 4% match that is fully vested from your first day.
- 20 days of vacation plus 11 paid company holidays.
- An annual bonus program and up to $8,000 per year for continued education.
- Access to an in-office fitness center, free snacks, and a relaxed dress code.
How to apply
If you are passionate about using your engineering skills to improve patient outcomes and want to grow your career in a collaborative, mission-focused environment, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application to be considered for this opportunity.
