At Attune, we believe that small business owners deserve better than the slow, paper-heavy insurance processes of the past. We are on a mission to modernize an entire industry by using data and technology to simplify risk assessment. By automating outdated workflows, we help brokers secure transparent and reliable policies for their clients in just a matter of minutes. Our team is a group of curious and motivated individuals who are passionate about building a faster, more accurate future for insurance, and we are looking for someone who shares that drive to join our growing mission.
The opportunity
We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join our workers compensation team. This is a vital role where you will have a direct impact on a high-growth, flagship product. While you will work across the stack, this position is intentionally backend-heavy, as you will be working closely with our core pricing systems. You will have the autonomy to research and solve complex technical challenges while collaborating with a supportive team that values high-quality code and thoughtful engineering practices.
A day in the life
- You will tackle challenging product and technical problems by designing creative solutions that improve our core systems.
- You will champion engineering excellence by maintaining high code quality, ensuring robust test coverage, and modeling best practices for the rest of the team.
- You will collaborate daily with our product managers and the workers compensation underwriting team to build user-facing features that span across our engineering boundaries.
Who you are
We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of professional software engineering experience who is comfortable working in a full-stack environment. You should be a strong communicator who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements, write code, and deploy meaningful changes. Because our systems rely on specific technologies, NodeJS experience is a requirement for this role, and having experience with TypeScript is considered a significant plus.
Why you'll love it here
We are a remote-first company, meaning you can do your best work from anywhere. We offer a competitive base salary of $150,000 per year. Beyond the numbers, we provide a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and professional growth, including:
- Excellent medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
- A 401k match to help you plan for the future.
- Flexible hours and generous time off policies.
- An annual $1,000 tuition reimbursement stipend for your continued learning.
