Because we operate in a fast-paced environment where we push new code daily, we are looking for a versatile software engineer to join our remote-first team and help us build tools that make a real difference in the lives of our users.
What you'll be doing
- Collaborate directly with our CTO and our engineering team to architect and design innovative new features and products.
- Develop and maintain our back-end dispatch applications using Ruby on Rails.
- Partner with our UI/UX experts to enhance our current mobile web applications and build engaging new web experiences.
What you'll bring
We are looking for a mid-level engineer who has at least two years of experience building dynamic web applications in an agile setting. You should be comfortable working in English and possess a strong ability to learn new technologies quickly. We value experience with several of the following areas:
- Building and maintaining Ruby on Rails applications and RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in HTML and JavaScript.
- Developing mobile apps for iOS or Android using frameworks like Cordova or Ionic.
- Working with real-time, location-based systems or telephony services like Twilio.
- Managing SQL and NoSQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Strong system design skills and experience managing the performance and scalability of large systems.
- Familiarity with standard development tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and CI pipelines.
