Role at a glance
We are looking for a mid-level, versatile Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position, meaning you can contribute to our mission from anywhere. You will be a key player in our fast-paced, data-driven environment where we push new code daily.
Your impact
- Collaborate directly with our CTO and engineering team to design and architect innovative new products and features.
- Take ownership of building out our back-end dispatch applications using Ruby on Rails.
- Partner with our UI/UX experts to enhance our mobile web applications and develop compelling new user experiences.
What you'll need
We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and adapt quickly to new technologies. You should have at least two years of experience developing dynamic web applications and a strong grasp of software engineering in an agile setting. Proficiency in English is required, along with experience in several of the following areas:
- Building applications with Ruby on Rails and RESTful APIs.
- Front-end development using HTML and JavaScript.
- Developing mobile apps for iOS or Android using Cordova or Ionic.
- Working with real-time, location-based systems or telephony services like Twilio.
- Managing SQL and NoSQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Applying strong system design skills to handle scalability and performance.
- Using standard industry tools like Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines.
