Are you ready to build beautiful, high-impact digital experiences that help bring clean water to millions of people around the world?
What you bring
We are looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our Engineering team on a Full Time basis. You will work remotely from anywhere in the United States, focusing on Ruby, Rails, JavaScript, React, RSpec, Capybara, HTML, CSS3, Agile, and Git. Your main responsibilities will include shaping and maintaining our public website and CMS, building performant and accessible user interfaces, and supporting donation forms and marketing initiatives with custom components and integrations. You will also collaborate daily with a cross-functional Growth Squad to deliver end-to-end solutions that inspire greater giving. This role is based in a fully remote environment open to candidates across all 50 U.S. states.
Requirements
You bring a strong foundation in modern frontend development along with proven expertise in writing clean, modular JavaScript using React, HTML5, and CSS3. You have at least two years of experience building user-facing web applications and feel confident collaborating with designers on responsive interfaces, design systems, and component libraries. Hands-on experience with web performance optimization, cross-browser compatibility, and front-end infrastructure is essential, as is proficiency with Ruby on Rails and test-driven development. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience, combined with an agile mindset and excellent communication skills, rounds out your profile. We value problem solvers who care about pixel-perfect design, continuous learning, and writing maintainable, high-quality code.
What we offer
In addition to meaningful work at a mission-driven organization, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes remote work flexibility, a 401k plan with employer match, medical insurance covered at 80 percent, dental and vision contributions, employer-paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, and generous paid time off including unlimited PTO, summer Fridays, and a six-week paid sabbatical after five years. We also support professional development through dedicated stipends, offer 16-week paid parental leave, and provide additional perks such as home office and TSA Pre-check stipends along with two to four annual travel opportunities to connect in person with the team.
How to Apply
If this opportunity excites you, we encourage you to apply and share how your experience and perspective can contribute to our mission. We look forward to learning more about you and exploring how you might grow with our team.
