We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our fully remote team and help us build the next generation of our data platform.
Key outcomes
- Design, develop, and maintain the backend services, APIs, and infrastructure that serve as the foundation of our platform.
- Manage and optimize data pipelines and ELT/ETL processes to handle both real-time and batch data effectively.
- Create and support integrations with various data providers using standard transfer protocols.
- Take full ownership of engineering projects, guiding them from initial concept to final delivery.
- Work closely with cross-functional partners to support team goals, even when tasks fall outside of core data engineering responsibilities.
- Maintain high product and data standards through rigorous code reviews and the implementation of automated and manual testing.
Requirements
- Over 8 years of professional software engineering experience, with a primary focus on data engineering.
- Expertise in backend development, specifically in creating and supporting REST and gRPC APIs.
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and working with database or lakehouse technologies like Postgres, Clickhouse, Redshift, Trino, StarRocks, or Apache Iceberg.
- Practical experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, including services like S3, EMR, Glue, Kinesis, or Athena.
- A proactive, action-oriented mindset and a strong desire to learn and adapt within a fast-paced industry.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with big data frameworks, particularly Apache Spark and DBT, including best practices for data quality.
- Familiarity with the .NET ecosystem.
- Knowledge of orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or Temporal.
- Previous experience working in a high-growth, venture-backed startup environment.
