At Flume Health, we are dedicated to modernizing the healthcare data ecosystem. Our Relay platform acts as a cloud-native integration hub that connects fragmented systems, allowing payers, administrators, and health solutions to exchange data with speed and security. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our remote-first team and help us build the foundational infrastructure that powers our data lakes and pipelines. If you are passionate about designing reliable, scalable systems and want to make a tangible impact on the future of healthcare administration, we would love to have you on board.
What you'll be doing
- You will design, build, and maintain the core infrastructure for our distributed data processing systems using tools like Go, Python, Apache Iceberg, and Kubernetes.
- You will create reusable frameworks, internal APIs, and libraries that empower our product and data teams to deploy reliable integrations and pipelines.
- You will architect systems capable of handling both real-time and large-scale batch workloads, ensuring that our data movement remains secure, observable, and cost-effective.
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, you should have at least 5 years of professional experience in backend or platform engineering. We are looking for someone who possesses the following skills and background:
- Strong proficiency in Go and a deep understanding of distributed systems, including concepts like scalability and consistency.
- Hands-on experience with data lake architectures, specifically Apache Iceberg, and a solid grasp of containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proven ability to operate production systems on Google Cloud Platform, including services like Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Run.
- Experience developing data ingestion frameworks or pipelines, ideally using Go or Python.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with a professional working proficiency in English.
- Familiarity with SQL, PostgreSQL, and Auth0 is highly valued, as is any prior experience working within HIPAA or SOC 2 compliance-driven environments.
What you'll get
We offer a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $180,000 USD. In addition to your compensation, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and long-term success:
- Full remote work flexibility with a dedicated work-from-home stipend.
- A robust stock option plan that gives you a direct stake in our company's growth.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
- A 401k retirement plan to help you plan for the future.
- Flexible hours and generous paid time off so you can maintain a healthy work-life balance.
