The role

We are seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our Data Market Connectivity Backend team on a full-time, on-site basis in New York City. As an early member of our engineering organization, you will work alongside industry experts to build robust, scalable systems that power our core infrastructure. While we operate in the fintech space, we are happy to teach you the necessary domain knowledge if you bring a passion for revolutionizing how retail investors access capital markets.

Core responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the critical services within our Data and Market Connectivity team that drive our trading systems and data products.
• Lead the implementation and deployment of distributed services, balancing the needs for low latency, high throughput, and system resiliency.
• Contribute to the long-term evolution of our technology stack, which currently includes Go, Python, Postgres, Kafka, Redis, Datadog, and AWS.

Skills and experience

We are looking for engineers who have a track record of building at scale and a desire to own projects from day one. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and possess the following qualifications:

• Two to four years of backend engineering experience, with a preference for those who have built services from the ground up in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in Go, with at least two years of experience using compiled languages.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems and cloud architecture on AWS.
• Familiarity with stream-based messaging queues like Kafka and relational databases such as Postgres.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, or a strong willingness to learn.
• Excellent communication skills and an impact-oriented mindset that thrives on transparency and collaboration.

Compensation and benefits

The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000, with final compensation determined by your specific experience and interview performance. In addition to a competitive salary and equity compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package:
