At Readyset, we are transforming how applications handle data by building a database cache that requires zero integration effort. By simply swapping a connection string, our users can reduce read latencies from hundreds of milliseconds to under a millisecond while cutting costs. Our technology precomputes results for parameterized SQL queries and updates them incrementally as underlying database data changes. We are wire-compatible with MySQL and Postgres, allowing developers to build faster, more scalable applications without changing their existing code. We are currently looking for passionate engineers to join our fully remote team as we push the boundaries of distributed systems and database research.

What is this role?

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position where you will play a pivotal role in scoping, designing, and building the cloud platform for the Readyset cache. You will be part of a small, growing engineering group that values technical depth and innovation, making this an ideal spot for someone who enjoys solving complex problems in distributed systems, storage, or database services.

What will you do?

• Take a hands-on approach to building core parts of our system while mentoring other team members to ensure we make sound architectural and design decisions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to define product requirements, address customer needs, and develop robust, scalable, and manageable cloud-native solutions.
• Act as a thought leader by evangelizing our engineering work through blog posts and technical contributions that highlight the systems we are building.

What makes you a great fit?

To succeed in this role, you should have at least 5 years of professional software engineering experience and a strong background in distributed systems, database systems, and service-oriented architectures. Proficiency in Python is essential, and we highly value experience building cloud-native solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field is required. We are looking for someone who communicates clearly, works well within a collaborative team environment, and is eager to explore the frontier of data infrastructure.
