At Pyka, we are revolutionizing the way the world moves by building autonomous electric aircraft that are safe, clean, and cost-effective. We have already secured industry-first regulatory approvals from the FAA and currently serve customers across four continents with our cargo and crop protection fleets. When you join our team, you are not just writing code, you are helping to build a future where aviation is more precise, sustainable, and accessible for everyone.
Role at a glance
We are seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. In this role, you will bridge the gap between software development and DevOps, taking ownership of the cloud infrastructure and tooling that power our fleet of aviation robots.
Your impact
- Design, maintain, and evolve our cloud-based infrastructure and deployment tools using Infrastructure as Code principles.
- Build and manage robust data pipelines to extract insights from flight logs and trigger automated system alerts.
- Develop internal tools, dashboards, and visualizations that empower our operations and product teams to make data-driven decisions.
What you'll need
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in software engineering and cloud systems. We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
- Professional experience with Python and familiarity with C++.
- Demonstrated expertise in Google Cloud, DevOps, and SRE practices.
- Practical experience with Pulumi or similar infrastructure as code tools.
- A background in database administration and managing data pipelines.
- Strong communication skills in English and a genuine passion for the aviation industry.
Perks and compensation
We offer a competitive base salary ranging from $139,000 to $171,000 per year, complemented by equity in the company. Our benefits package is designed to support your health and well-being, including:
- Employer-sponsored medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- A 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts with employer matching.
- Generous paid time off and paid holidays.
- Free catered lunches and a fully stocked kitchen.
- The unique opportunity to work hands-on with large-scale autonomous aircraft and witness your work take flight.
