We provide a comprehensive data lake analytics platform powered by open source Trino, allowing more than 300 leading organizations to discover and consume data without the need for expensive or time-consuming migrations. We are a remote-first company recognized as a Best Place to Work, and we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Poland to help us continue our mission.

What you'll be doing

You will develop and optimize the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of the Starburst Galaxy service.
You will design and build core operational infrastructure for our services by following the immutable cloud infrastructure paradigm.
You will continuously improve our engineering processes, testing frameworks, and systems to scale our codebase and boost team productivity.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong passion for software engineering with a specific focus on infrastructure. We are looking for the following qualifications:

Proven experience in cloud infrastructure architecture and orchestration.
Proficiency in developing software using Java and TypeScript.
Practical experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Pulumi or Terraform.
A strong sense of ownership, grit, and a bias for action, which are core values at Starburst.
Fluency in English to collaborate effectively with our global team.
Prior experience developing for or operating Trino is considered a significant advantage.
