Software Engineer - Backend at Sorare

The role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid position based in France, requiring you to be in the office three days a week. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our technical infrastructure, working alongside a high-performing team to build and scale the systems that power our global gaming platform.

Core responsibilities

• Lead complex technical projects from the initial concept phase all the way through to production deployment.
• Collaborate closely with our product and design teams to implement core features that enhance the experience for our players.
• Develop robust tools and systems that prioritize security, performance, and long-term maintainability while driving platform scalability.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should have 4 to 5 years of professional experience as a software engineer. We value candidates who are independent, creative, and eager to tackle new paradigms in technology. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess the following qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Ruby and TypeScript.
• Experience with frameworks and tools such as Rails, React, and GraphQL.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, AWS, and Docker.
• Knowledge of or a strong interest in Blockchain and Ethereum technologies.
• Excellent communication skills in English, as this is the primary language used across our international team.
