The role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a high-impact position within our performance-focused engineering group. You will play a critical role in tackling the scaling challenges that come with our rapid growth, ensuring our systems remain reliable and efficient as we continue to expand our user base.

Core responsibilities

• Analyze our infrastructure to pinpoint performance bottlenecks and implement effective solutions to resolve them.
• Design and track key performance metrics to ensure the ongoing health and reliability of our core services.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to provide guidance on building scalable, high-performance features from the ground up.

Skills and experience

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of solving complex systems problems. You should be comfortable working in a remote environment and possess the following qualifications:

• Strong experience focusing on performance optimization, specifically regarding API latency.
• Deep expertise in SQL and relational database schema design, with a preference for Postgres.
• Hands-on experience with distributed search engines and caching technologies like Redis, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch.
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript.
• Experience managing infrastructure and scaling systems on AWS, ideally utilizing Terraform for infrastructure as code.
