What is this role?
We are looking for a Senior Software Development Manager to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. In this position, you will lead one of our product teams, balancing hands-on development work with the responsibility of coaching and growing your developers. You will act as a key partner to our Product Management team, ensuring that our projects are well-resourced and aligned with our broader company goals.
What will you do?
- Lead, mentor, and support your team members through regular one-on-one meetings, long-term growth planning, and our performance management program.
- Collaborate with Product Management to plan roadmaps, allocate resources effectively, and ensure your team is staffed with high-quality talent.
- Participate in Agile rituals, such as stand-ups and retrospectives, while contributing to code reviews and maintaining our high standards for clean, tested software.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should have at least seven years of software development experience, including a minimum of three years in a management capacity. We value candidates who possess strong communication skills and a deep understanding of the following:
- Proficiency in Ruby or similar object-oriented languages.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Strong command of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- A solid foundation in TDD, test automation, and software design principles.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and Agile methodologies like Kanban or Scrum.
- A relevant degree, diploma, or equivalent professional experience.
