Software Developer, Backend at Tracktik

In July 2022, Trackforce Valiant and TrackTik merged to establish the world’s leading provider of physical security workforce management software. Our platform serves as a vital tool for corporations and security firms, helping them manage their personnel, improve response times, and streamline administrative operations. With over 350 employees across offices in Montreal, San Diego, Paris, and London, we support more than 3,000 clients in over 45 countries. While we maintain a global presence, we operate as a remote-first organization and are currently looking for a Senior Backend Software Developer to help us drive innovation and maintain the integrity of our core systems.

Key outcomes

• Collaborate with our engineering team to design, scale, and launch new features and services.
• Partner with Tech Leads, Product Managers, and Scrum Masters to ensure project delivery remains efficient and team dynamics stay strong.
• Promote high standards for coding and design, focusing on automation, quality, and clean organization.
• Lead by example through mentoring junior developers and fostering a culture of excellence.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Proficiency with modern PHP frameworks, with a strong preference for Symfony.
• Proven ability to build and maintain REST APIs.
• Familiarity with JSON schemas, OpenAPI, Swagger, and OAuth protocols.
• Practical experience with AWS services, specifically SQS and Lambdas.
• Experience optimizing relational databases, particularly MySQL.
• Strong background in writing comprehensive unit, integration, and functional tests.
• Experience working within an agile squad environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to take initiative as a self-starter.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working with the Yii framework.
• Knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript.
